Frequently Asked Questions
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser using FFmpeg WebAssembly. Your video file never leaves your device. This means your content stays completely private.
Why are the split points not frame-exact?
We use stream copy (no re-encoding) for instant splitting. This means cuts happen at the nearest keyframe, which may differ by a fraction of a second from your exact split point. The tradeoff is that splitting is nearly instant and there is zero quality loss.
What is the maximum file size?
The maximum file size is 2 GB, limited by WebAssembly memory constraints. For very large files (over 500 MB), processing may use significant browser memory.
What video formats are supported?
MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, and AVI. The output format matches your input format (MP4 or WebM), preserving the original codecs and quality.
Is this tool really free?
Yes, completely free with no limitations. There are no watermarks, no account required, and no premium features behind a paywall. Use it as much as you need.
