Frequently Asked Questions
What formats can I download?
Word Doodle exports your art as a PNG image. The resolution matches the canvas dimensions you choose: Landscape (1200x800), Portrait (800x1200), or Square (1000x1000). If you need a different format like JPG, WebP, or SVG, you can convert the PNG with our Image Converter.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your text never leaves your device, ensuring complete privacy. The only external request is loading the selected Google Font.
Is there a text length limit?
You can input up to 50,000 characters. The word limit slider (10-500) controls how many unique words are placed on the canvas. If your text has more words than the limit, the most frequently used words are prioritized and sized proportionally to their frequency.
How does font sizing work?
The font size range (min and max) determines the scale of words on the canvas. The most frequent word gets the maximum size, and less frequent words are scaled down proportionally to the minimum. You can adjust both the min (10-50px) and max (30-100px) values to control the visual hierarchy.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. The word art you generate is yours to use for any purpose — personal, educational, or commercial. The fonts used are all open-source Google Fonts licensed under the SIL Open Font License, which permits commercial use.
Is this tool really free?
Yes, completely free with no limitations. Since all processing happens in your browser, there are no server costs. No watermarks, no account required, and no rate limits.
